About Us

Every Drawing Tells a Story
HeARTscribe is a creative wellness platform where children in schools transform their experiences with bullying, stress and big emotions into art, stories and poems — with the help of young volunteers.
What is HeARTscribe?
HeARTscribe is a safe space for students to express their emotions through drawing and storytelling. With the support of volunteers, every sketch becomes a poem, story or comic — turning challenges like bullying into confidence and self-expression.
Each month we publish a themed HeARTfolio edition — like "Dreams of Belonging" — where our HeART Heroes share their voices, feelings and dreams through art and poetry, complete with volunteer reflections and "Behind the Art" mini-notes.
Why it matters
- Helps children cope with bullying and stress creatively
- Empowers volunteers to advocate for kindness
- Builds community between families, teachers and peers
Our impact
Since we began, HeARTscribe has created a growing library of HeARTfolios, empowered students across our school community, engaged a dedicated team of young volunteers, and run annual awareness and anti-bullying campaigns.
Who is behind it?
HeARTscribe was founded by Varna Rajeshkannan, supported by a team of volunteer writers, poets and artists aged 14+. You can read more about Varna and see the work on the Artists page.
